Miami Life Center is excited to announce that our Ashtanga Practitioner’s Intensive will have an online option in 2024.
This course is perfect for complete beginners as well as those firmly established in their practice. It brings all the experience, tradition and personal attention that you would expect from MLC and integrates digital learning with the yogic teachings our community has perfected over the past 20 years.
While this course meets Yoga Alliance 200hr requirements, please know only Paramaguru Sharath Join authorizes teachers in our lineage.
The Journey
You will complete this course prepared to continue the art of learning along this ancient path. You will learn the Vinyasa counts and technical foundation for key asanas of the primary Series in their original context. Miami Life Center presents a roster of teachers who dedicate their lives to the spiritual practice of yoga. The intention is to provide the students with an education, not with a certification. Only Sharath Jois & Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India, can grant you an official certification or authorization to teach Ashtanga Yoga.
Be firmly established in a personal Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga practice.
Have a solid grasp of the fundamental yoga asanas of Ashtanga Yoga.
Understand how anatomy and physiology relate to yoga practice.
Understand how to look at students’ bodies on a physical and an energetic level.
Draw upon basic knowledge of the subtle body and yoga philosophy.
What can I expect?
On completion of this program, you will be established in a daily practice. You will learn safe alignment of key postures and have a foundational experience of useful technique of the entire Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series asanas. You will learn fundamental applied anatomy, classic yogic breathing techniques and the traditional method of Sanskrit Vinyasas counting. You will study classic Yoga Philosophy as per Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and and gain insight of Ashtanga’s place in the history of Yoga.
Have a basic understanding of the art of pranayama.
Learn the traditional counted Sanskrit Vinyasa system.
Learn instruction for safe technique alignment
Through yogas experience-based approach, you’ll experience the transformative physical, mental, and spiritual effects of an intelligent yoga practice.
This course is compliant with Yoga Alliance RYT 200 hr standards.

7:30am-8:15am Yogic Breathing
8:30am-10:30am Mysore
12:30pm-3:00pm Chanting/Philosophy
3:30pm-5:30pm Techniques & Alignment/Vinyasa Class

Tim and Kino Contact Hours:
Kino teaches 4-hours Yin Yoga and Meditation.
Tim teachers 12.5-hours The Yoga Sutras workshop.

A recommendation from a teacher who knows you well helps us with a look into your practice and commitment to yoga. We prefer a recommendation from an Ashtanga based teacher, yet whomever you call your teacher works fine. We would like to hear about how long you have worked together, what the experience has been from the teacher's perspective, your teacher’s view on your potentials and challenges, whether your teacher finds you are physically and mentally ready to pursue a one month all day intensive, plus whatever else your teacher finds relevant.
Program Tuition & Payment:
The course costs $3,350. A $800 non-refundable deposit is required before applying the program. After you’ve paid your deposit you may submit your application form
Final payment due on April 1st, 2024. A payment plan may be available upon request.
You can also access the course for a discounted early bird special of $2,700. Apply and secure your spot with a payment in full by February 28th, 2024 to qualify for the discounted rate. After February 28th, 2024 the tuition cost will increase to the full cost of $3,350
