Vinyasa Teachers

EDGAR NAVARRO

Edgar Navarro is the Director of Miami Life Center, a dedicated Ashtanga practitioner and teacher whose path has been shaped by years of study under some of the most respected names in modern yoga.

A direct student of Paramaguru Sharath Jois, Edgar’s teaching is rooted in the traditional Ashtanga method as it continues to be transmitted from Mysore, India. He has also studied extensively under Tim Feldmann and Kino MacGregor, whose mentorship helped refine both his personal practice and his approach to sharing the method with others.

With a deep commitment to the breath as the bridge between body and mind, Edgar has studied Pranayama for many years under the guidance of Mark Linksman—a long-time student of Tim Miller. This subtle yet powerful practice informs much of his teaching, offering students tools to deepen awareness, balance the nervous system, and access inner stillness.

Complementing his strong foundation in Ashtanga, Edgar is also trained in Yin Yoga under Jo Phee, a senior student of Paul Grilley. His Yin classes offer a meditative counterpoint to the dynamic structure of Ashtanga, inviting students into deep release and introspection through long-held, supported postures.Whether teaching Mysore, led classes, pranayama, or Yin, Edgar's approach is attentive, grounded, and inspired by the living tradition of yoga. He holds space for students to move inward, refine their awareness, and cultivate a steady, sustainable practice,on and off the mat.

SHANNON SOLLARS

Shannon’s journey starts with a strong movement background in ballet and modern dance since she was 6 years old. She graduated high school at University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Contemporary Dance, then moved to New York to continue her pre professional dance training at the Ailey School. From there she moved to Montreal, Canada to learn aerial hoop and contortion, and debuted an acrobatic dance routine that she performed in various cities in the United States. After the birth of her first child, she suffered a career ending injury that ultimately led her to yoga.

Shannon came to yoga through her first pregnancy, working 1 on 1 with a prenatal instructor, mainly doing breathwork and meditation. In 2019, she enrolled in a 200 hr immersion at Abhaya Yoga in Brooklyn, where she learned to teach vinyasa and restorative yoga, as well as completing an additional 50 hours on Aerial Mukti Yoga, and thus taught various yoga classes for the next year at the studio. She was inspired by her teacher, Tara Glazier, with a deep devotion for yoga, and studied texts such as The Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita for the first time, and also tantric texts and stories of the Devas. For Shannon, this  period of study fueled a passion and an unbreakable bond with yoga.

In 2020 Shannon moved to an idyllic paradise in the Bahamas and taught a free community class for island locals. On a trip to Miami, she took her first Led Primary with Kino McGregor at the newly opened Miami Yoga Garage. Inspired by the conference, she began practicing Ashtanga, using OMstars for inspiration and guidance, and even bringing a teacher who would travel to the remote island to give mysore-style assists. In 2023 she moved to Miami and settled in Coconut Grove with her two children. She was accepted in the 2024 Ashtanga Practitioners Intensive at Miami Life Center and completed the 300 hour program. Shannon is thrilled to be teaching and practicing with so many inspiring teachers at Miami Life Center.
